That ‘new school year’ feeling…..

I love this time of year.  Not only because of the (mostly) sunny days and turning leaves, but also because of the new autumn/winter collections really hitting the shops.  I blogged last week about some of the lovely pieces for the new season shown at the Question Air fashion show.  But it also got me thinking about other ways to ‘refresh’ your look for the new season.  One easy (and inexpensive) way is by updating your makeup.  MAC has teamed up with Carine Roitfeld (former model and editor of French Vogue) to produce a great new set of palettes for autumn – think smoky eyes and pale lips – the eternal way to bring out your inner Parisian chic.  See the collection at

Metal, leather and texture rule at QA fashion show

Tuesday night’s fashion show (hosted by local boutique Question Air) was fantastic fun – it seemed that all of Wimbledon Village was there – and of course it was all for a great cause.

The clothes were modelled by locals (including some very familiar faces), showcasing a riot of texture, sparkle, leather and fur.  Colourful skinnies ruled, in shades of cobalt, red and plum, topped with a range of sequinned blazers and ‘swingy’ coats – capes also made a return appearance, trimmed with leather and buckles.  Body-con dresses in lace were prominent, coupled with fantastic gold stiletto heels – fun, sexy and lethal !

My favourite outfit was a long black jumper and very short plum sequined skirt.  The model had bare legs and short black biker boots, giving this girly look a tough and sexy edge.

Local magazine “darling” was there taking photos, so hopefully you’ll see me in the next issue…

Question Air Fashion Show

I am looking forward to next week’s Question Air Fashion Show, being held at beautiful Cannizaro House in Wimbledon Village on Tuesday 9th October.  Proceeds from the event go to Action Duchenne, a charity helping sufferers of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a progressive muscle wasting disease.  This event is sold out, and also includes an afterparty at nearby Hemingways…

The Question Air team will be showcasing the autumn/winter 2012 collection, using local models.  Action Duchenne is a great cause, and in fact I ran a 10K race for them in Battersea Park a few years back….and it was a personal best.
